San Ysidro Port of Entry, San Ysidro, CA
ELEN Consulting designed a concept single-line diagram, performed electrical quality-control and peer-reviews of the electrical design for this $300 million project that replaced the existing land port of entry with the world's largest port of entry, complete with new state-of-the-art facilities. The electrical system consisted of redundant medium voltage services, Loma Linda, UPS systems, and multiple security and communications systems. Electrical systems also include renewable energy sources with monocrystal PV panels located on shade canopies. The design effort was coordinated with GSA facilities and Border Patrol personnel and other project stakeholders.
