Shift Apartments on 1501 Island Ave is a striking 21-story, ~631,000 sq. ft. mixed-use development that occupies an entire city block in San Diego’s vibrant East Village. The project includes 368 residential units ranging from studios to two-bedrooms, along with approximately 19,000 sq. ft. of retail space that activates the street level. Residents enjoy extensive communal amenities such as a rooftop deck with pool and sky lounge, an art-walk courtyard, dog park, co-working lounges, fitness and boxing studios, and social spaces like BBQ terraces, fire pits, cafés, and a dry-cleaning service—creating a dynamic urban community that blends lifestyle, convenience, and connectivity.
