Project Overview
Alga Norte Community Park in Carlsbad, California, is a 32-acre multi-use destination designed to serve residents of all ages. The park features a state-of-the-art aquatic center with competition and instructional pools, diving boards, a spa, splash pad, and fitness room. It also includes San Diego County’s largest skate park, a dog park with separate areas for small and large dogs, multiple ball fields, basketball courts, a playground, and shaded picnic and barbecue areas. These amenities make it one of the most versatile and well-used recreational facilities in the region.
ELEN Consulting provided electrical engineering and lighting design services that power and illuminate the park’s diverse spaces. Our work enhances safety, usability, and the overall visitor experience while also reducing energy costs through sustainable lighting solutions. The park is fitted with numerous green features making it both environmentally and economically sustainable. The net effect of those measures is a 30% overall reduction in energy costs.
