UCSD North Torrey Pines Living and Learning Center

Project Overview

The North Torrey Pines Living and Learning Neighborhood at UC San Diego is a 1.6-million sq. ft. development that combines housing, academic, and community facilities into a fully integrated campus environment. The neighborhood provides residences for more than 2,000 students along with classrooms, lecture halls, dining venues, retail space, and support facilities for Sixth College and the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities. Designed to encourage collaboration and connection, the new community also incorporates landscaped open spaces, underground parking for 1,200 vehicles, and extensive utility and site improvements. ELEN Consulting designed energy-efficient electrical and lighting systems that supported UCSD's sustainability goals, contributed to its high-performance building standards, and helped position the development among the most recognized campus projects in the region.
