Project Overview
Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, one of the largest military training facilities on the West Coast, required major infrastructure upgrades to support base growth and improve system reliability. ELEN Consulting provided electrical engineering services for a new base-wide 12kV distribution system, replacing the outdated 4.16kV network with modern infrastructure. The project included design of a double-fed 56MVA main substation, two 28MVA substations in key training areas, and more than 85 miles of new overhead and underground distribution lines. These improvements delivered greater connectivity and redundancy across the base, strengthening power reliability for mission-critical operations and future development needs.
