Palm Spring USD PV Canopies

Project Overview

Palm Springs Unified School District (PSUSD) is a public K–12 system serving more than 23,000 students across 26 schools in the western Coachella Valley, including Palm Springs, Cathedral City, and Rancho Mirage. To support the district’s sustainability and energy-saving initiatives, solar canopy systems were installed—including 117 structures and rooftop systems across ten school sites, delivering a combined 7 MWdc photovoltaic capacity using over 21,000 solar modules. ELEN Consulting provided electrical engineering, lighting, and photovoltaic system design as part of the design-build implementation, engineering solutions that integrate solar generation with campus infrastructures while enhancing site safety and energy performance. We also completed similar projects for the Tustin Unified School District and the Morongo Unified School District.
